In the summer theres a lot more smaller sandeels around so we at Wrigglers Baits have added new 10mm netting and its working very well letting out all the small Sandeels and keeping the larger ones in. the lads on the boats are pleased with the results and are also happy that they are being more environmentally responsible by reducing the number of small fish that they catch and hold.
Furthermore, the bigger mesh size of the netting can reduce the impact of bycatch on other non-target species, such as crabs shrimps. By using this new netting, we are not only improving our catch efficiency but also promoting sustainable fishing practices. We will continue to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the netting and make further improvements as necessary. As a responsible fishing company, we are committed to protecting the marine ecosystem and ensuring the livelihoods of future generations in the fishing industry.
